  • November Meeting: What Can Your Dog Do?

    OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! From FastCAT to Rally Obedience, Agility to Dog Sledding, there are so many fun things to do with your dog!  Join us at Crossett Brook Middle School in Duxbury on November 1 to learn more about dog sports and activities.  Members of the Green Mountain Dog Club will be there to offer demonstrations  in the center ring, share photos and materials to help you get started, and answer questions. Do you have a rescue or mixed breed?  No problem -- we can help you sign your dog up for a Canine Companions number or Purebred Alternative Listing that will allow you to compete in AKC event   NOTE:  THIS IS A DEMONSTRATION AND Q&A EVENT.  PLEASE LEAVE YOUR OWN DOGS AT HOME. (THIS TIME!  WE HOPE TO BE ABLE TO OFFER A "TRY IT" EVENT SOON)!

  • Handling practice

    Join Green Mountain Dog Club for drop-in conformation practice on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM at Farr's Field (Waterbury Flea Market), 2 miles west of Waterbury on US Rt. 2.  As we go along, we'll be adding rally/obedience practice, some classes, and some workshops and "try-it" events.  Watch this site and our Facebook page for updates!  Hopefully they'll have the big white tent up for the season so we can practice rain or shine! Drop-in practice sessions are $10 each, payable by check, cash, or card.  (We'll have a QR code on the club table where we're set up).  If you prefer to sign up ahead, use the form below.

    SAVE THE DATE! The Vermont Scenic Circuit Dog Shows will be back at the Tunbridge Fairgrounds July 9-12, 2026.  Join us for four days of dog shows, obedience and rally trials, and much much more! The show superintendent will be RAU DOG SHOWS.

  • Walk for Animals

    Join us from 11 AM to 4 PM on September 12   on the beautiful grounds of  Stowe Cider for NCAL's Walk For Animals.  This fun fundraiser includes a walk with dogs, food, and entertainment.  Green Mountain Dog Club will be doing demonstrations all day, showcasing the many activities people can do with their dogs -- agility, fetch, rally, bikejoring, sledding, scent work, and more!  It's a reprise of our "What Can Your Dog Do?" event that the club held last November. So sign up to walk with your dog and help raise money for the North Country Animal League!  Enjoy a fun day of food, exercise, and entertainment with your dog.  See dogs from the Green Mountain Dog Club demonstrating a host of dog sports and activities that PLUS the Walk for Animals is a qualifying event toward an AKC Fit Dog title.  All dogs, including mixed breeds and unregistered purebreds, can earn a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Fit Dog medallion while getting their exercise.  We'll have the form you need to get started,  plus information about how to get an AKC Canine Partners or Purebred Alternative Listing, allowing your dog to compete or test in AKC companion events like FastCAT, Fetch, Rally, Canine Good Citizen, and many other dog sports and activities.
