Green Mountain Dog Club membership is open to all dog owners and dog lovers in northern and central Vermont (and beyond). We offer an evolving variety of activities, from our annual show week to monthly meetings, training opportunities, FastCat Fun Days, a late summer member picnic, and more.

We are trying to add more member activities — classes, seminars, get-togethers, public service. It’s a chicken and egg situation. Every program or event requires someone (usually several someones) to put it on.

So, be aware that a small club like ours relies upon its members to step up and volunteer to help at club activities — especially the four days of dog shows in July, and the two weekends of FastCAT Fun Runs ( usually in May and September, or thereabout). Our goal is for every member to be involved. In addition to helping with the show and FastCAT, members have the opportunity to help out wherever their interests and experience lie — we need people who can lead handling classes and a proposed juniors program, point people for AKC “event in a box” popup activities in various towns around our region, and people with an interest in outreach, public education, legislation, and welfare. We are always looking for prospective board members, too — especially people with a dog show or performance background. It’s work, yes — but fun too.

Prospective members must attend a minimum of two club activities, at least one of which must be a general meeting. You will need two sponsors for your application, which is read twice before being put to a vote for approval. Don’t worry — we are very friendly, but we do want to get to know you and be sure of your commitment to our group before you join! Pick up a membership application in person at one of the meetings or events you attend, or DOWNLOAD AN APPLICATION HERE.
