It's a reprise of our "What Can Your Dog Do?" event that the club held last November. So sign up to walk with your dog and help raise money for the North Country Animal League! All dogs, including mixed breeds and unregistered purebreds, can earn a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Fit Dog medallion while getting their exercise. We'll have the form you need to get started, plus information about how to get an AKC Canine Partners or Purebred Alternative Listing, allowing your dog to compete or test in AKC companion events like FastCAT, Fetch, Rally, Canine Good Citizen, and many other dog sports and activities.

FastCAT Fun Run
Dac Rowe Field, Waterbury -- Winooski Street Entrance 35-37 Winooski Street, Waterbury, United StatesJoin us September 26-27 2026 at Dac Rowe Park in Waterbury for GMDC's Fall FastCAT Fun Run. What is FastCAT? Think of it as a 100-yard dash for dogs. From couch potatoes to conditioned athletes, canine competitors have a chance to stretch out and run their fastest in a safe space, chasing a lure that is fairly accurately described as a trash bag on a string, while their humans clap and cheer them on. The Fun Run is open to dogs of all breeds, and mixed breeds too! This is a non-sanctioned event for fun and practice -- it's a great way for new or inexperienced dogs (and handlers) to try one of AKC's most popular sport. No experience is necessary, but you do have to pre-register. We'll tell you everything else you need to know and what to bring in the confirmation email you'll get after you sign up. On the day, experienced volunteers will be available to help you and your dog get started. For more information, or to enter your dog, click here.
